Genesee County Search and Rescue is an all volunteer organization that serves Genesee County and other requesting communities.

The mission of the Genesee County Search and Rescue (GCSAR) is to conduct and/or assist in the search of lost or missing persons.

We specialize in ground search and search management.

Some of the training and skill requirements for the team members are:

  • Ground Search and Rescue Awareness Class.
  • Ground Search and Rescue Operations Course.
  • CPR and FIRST AID certification.
  • Understanding of Crime Scene Protocol and Preservation.
  • FEMA IS classes: IS-22, IS-700a, IS-100b, IS-800b, IS-200b, IS-809.
  • Understanding and faminliarization with missing person profiles.
  • Ham Radio License
  • Good Navigation Skills
